AN INSTANT NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER WINNER OF THE 2022 JOYCE CAROL OATES PRIZE FINALIST FOR THE 2021 NATIONAL BOOK AWARD FOR FICTION One of Barack Obama's Favorite Books of 2021 Named a Best Book of the Year by The New York Times, The Washington Post, TIME, NPR, The Financial Times, Good Housekeeping, Esquire, Vulture, Marie Claire, Vox, The Los Angeles Times, USA Today and more! “A relentless exhibition of Groff’s freakish talent. In just over 250 pages, she gives us a character study to rival Hilary Mantel’s Thomas Cromwell .” – USA Today “An electric reimagining . . . feminist, sensual . . . unforgettable.” – O, The Oprah Magazine “Thrilling and heartbreaking.” –Time Magazine “[A] page-by-page pleasure as we soar with her.” –New York Times One of our best American writers, Lauren Groff returns with her exhilarating first new novel since the groundbreaking Fates and Furies. Cast out of the royal court by Eleanor of Aquitaine, deemed too coarse and rough-hewn for marriage or courtly life, seventeen-year-old Marie de France is sent to England to be the new prioress of an impoverished abbey, its nuns on the brink of starvation and beset by disease. At first taken aback by the severity of her new life, Marie finds focus and love in collective life with her singular and mercurial sisters. In this crucible, Marie steadily supplants her desire for family, for her homeland, for the passions of her youth with something new to her: devotion to her sisters, and a conviction in her own divine visions. Marie, born the last in a long line of women warriors and crusaders, is determined to chart a bold new course for the women she now leads and protects. But in a world that is shifting and corroding in frightening ways, one that can never reconcile itself with her existence, will the sheer force of Marie’s vision be bulwark enough? Equally alive to the sacred and the profane, Matrix gathers currents of violence, sensuality, and religious ecstasy in a mesmerizing portrait of consuming passion, aberrant faith, and a woman that history moves both through and around. Lauren Groff’s new novel, her first since Fates and Furies, is a defiant and timely exploration of the raw power of female creativity in a corrupted world.

In the movie The Matrix, the character Morpheus offers two pills to Neo—if he takes the blue pill, he will go on with life as he has before, believing what he has always believed. If he takes the red pill, he will find out what the “matrix” really is, and many of his earlier beliefs will be shattered. When it comes to taking a hard look at a specific set of beliefs about parenthood and reproduction that has driven our society for generations, The Baby Matrix is the red pill. The Baby Matrix looks at long-held beliefs about parenthood and reproduction, and unravels why we believe what we believe. It lays out:We commonly think our desire to have children boils down to our biological wiring, but author Laura Carroll says it’s much more than that. Unlike other books on parenthood, The Baby Matrix: Why Freeing Our Minds From Outmoded Thinking About Parenthood & Reproduction Will Create a Better World takes a serious look at powerful social and cultural influences that drive the desire for the parenthood experience, and lays out why we need to be very aware of these influences to make the most informed decisions about parenthood. -the historical origins of beliefs about parenthood and reproduction -why many of these beliefs no longer work for society or were never true in the first place -why we continue to believe them anyway -the prices society pays as a result The Baby Matrix shows us how we got here, brings to light what is true, which includes knowing about the powerful influence of “pronatalism,” and explains why society can no longer afford to leave pronatalism unquestioned. “This is not a book about convincing people not to have children,” says Carroll. “I want people to be very aware of the long-held social and cultural pressures, and be able to free themselves from those pressures when making parenthood choices. This will result in more people making the best decisions for themselves, will foster a society in which those who are best suited to become parents are the ones who have children and one that knows what it means to bring a child into the world today.” This book will make you examine your own intentions and beliefs, will rile you, and might just change your mind. Whether you are already a parent, want to become a parent, are still making up your mind, or know you don’t want children, you’ll never think about parenthood in the same way. The Baby Matrix is a must-read for anyone interested in psychology, sociology, anthropology, parenting issues, environmentalism, and social justice. But most of all, it’s for anyone, parent or not, who reveres the truth and wants the best for themselves, their families, and our world.

Serving as a pre-production archive of the work related to The Matrix, this coffee table edition includes the complete script, along with stills from the movie, four double-sided gatefolds featuring conceptual drawings, and commentary by the artists. Some in color, some in black and white, approximately 700 storyboards (including three cut from the final film) tell the story with a comic book sensibility. "David Icke...has exposed the global network of families behind Big Banking, Big Biotech, Big Food, Big Government, Big Media and Big Pharma in book after book as his awareness has expanded -- and he takes this on to still new levels of exposure in Remember Who You are...the key is in the title. We are enslaved because we identify with our body and our name, when these are only vehicles and symbols for what we really are -- Infinite Awareness, Infinite Consciousness. We are imprisoned in the realms of the five senses and 'little me' when we are All That Is, All That Has Been and all That Can Ever Be. To breach the perceptual walls of the Saturn-Moon Matrix and bring and end to mass human enslavement, we need to awaken to our true identity." -- Publisher's description.

The vast majority of us unknowingly suffer from a slave mentality. We constantly experience the psychological phenomena of cognitive dissonance, where our beliefs and behaviour are in conflict, and Stockholm syndrome - the traumatic bonding with a captor. Our ability to decode reality is linked to what we are able to perceive. Icke believes our reality has been hijacked by an invisible force the Gnostics used to call Archons. He maintains that we are headed towards a cashless world and human settlements which are projected as local community initiatives but are actually centralized systems of control. Our health is being systematically weakened: if you are sick, you are easier to control. Ickes dystopian view of the future assumes that the masses will stay glued to their TVs, locked forever into the hive mind of the Matrix, which says "I have no power." Can humanity break free? Through truth and love we can become who and what we really are.

Escaping the Matrix Book PDF/Epub Download

In some way or another most of us are "stuck"-in a secret sin we can't control or maybe by an inability to stand up for ourselves. In Escaping the Matrix, authors Gregory A. Boyd and Al Larson use the vehicle of The Matrix film trilogy to argue that our struggles with habitual sin, thought patterns, damaged emotions, and phobias happen because we do not know how to take charge of the way we experience reality. The authors draw on biblical and psychological insights to provide practical resources for helping believers escape the matrix of the world system that ensnares them. While this book is aimed at the newest generation of Christian readers, all ages will be inspired by the book's innovative strategies for experiencing a deeper life in Christ.

"I want to make it clear before we start what the title represents. Everything You Need To Know, But Have Never Been Told does not refer to all that people need to know in terms of information and knowledge. How could you put that between two covers? Religious books claim to do this but they are works of self-delusion and perceptual imprisonment. Everything You Need To Know in this case refers to the information necessary to open entirely new ways of thinking and perceiving reality, both in the seen and unseen, from which everything else will come. This book is a start not a finish. It is written in layers with information placed upon information that together reveals the picture by connecting the parts. The parts are fascinating, but the picture is devastating. Prepare for a perception reboot]] "

The Matrix and Meaning of Character Book PDF/Epub Download

Character structures underlie everyone’s personality. When rigidly defended, they limit us; yet as they become more flexible, they can reveal sources of animation, renewal and authenticity. The Matrix and Meaning of Character guides the reader into an awareness of the archetypal depths that underlie character structures, presenting an original developmental model in which current analytic theories are synthesised. The authors examine nine character structures, animating them with fairy tales, mythic images and case material, creating a bridge between the traditional language of psychopathology and the universal realm of image and symbol. This book will appeal to all analytical psychologists, psychoanalysts and psychotherapists who want to strengthen their clinical expertise. It will help clinicians to extend their clinical insights beyond a strictly behavioural, medical or cognitive approach, revealing the potential of the human spirit.

The Matrix Explained Book PDF/Epub Download

It’s amazing how dominant information is in the modern world. In fact, it’s so dominant that it begs the question, “What if information does not only define and shape our world—what if it is in fact reality”? The 1999 film The Matrix and its sequels were predicated on just this idea. Of late, the sultans of Silicon Valley have become obsessed with this idea, which is known as the simulation hypothesis. Elon Musk himself has remarked, “There’s a billion-to-one chance we’re living in base reality.” Perhaps information doesn’t just define and shape our reality. Perhaps it’s entangled in the fabric of reality through the mind of the observer. Consider the philosophical thought experiment: if a tree falls in the forest and no one is there to hear it, does it make a sound? It takes a mind to experience reality. In this book, I chronicle the journey that led me to discover the missing link between science and spirituality: the information-bit. Legendary theoretical physicist John Wheeler’s “it-from-bit” theory and my own Quantum Mind model are ultimately rooted in the same thing: data. Wheeler suggested that the reality of physics —the “it”—is based on patterns of information, or “bits.” I theorize that our actions in the real world unfold in sync with the underlying information-thought blueprints that exist in our mind. Buddha once said, “The mind is everything. What you think, you become.” This bi-directional dialogue across the mind–body connection may well occur at the Planck scale, where the transition between quantum physics—the bit—and classical physics—the it—operates. But where do the mind and body meet? Purpose, which emerges from knowing oneself, unifies the wisdom of the East with the pragmatism of the West. The energy derived from what has meaning to the self is the fuel that allows individuals to manifest in the physical reality (via the body) the bit arrangement contained in the micro realm of their mind. If its point of origin is love, this route leads to inner peace and harmony and draws a vector unifying the mind, heart, and body.
