A Programmed Review for Electrical Engineering Book PDF/Epub Download

The field of electrical engineering is very innovative-new products and new ideas are continu ally being developed. Yet all these innovations are based on the fundamental principles of electrical engineering: Ohm's law, Kirchhoff's laws, feedback control, waveforms, capacitance, resistance, inductance, electricity, magnetism, current, voltage, power, energy. It is these basic fundamentals which are tested for in the Professional Engineering Examination (PE Exam). This text provides an organized review of the basic electrical engineering fundamentals. It is an outgrowth of an electrical engineering refresher course taught by the author to candidates preparing for the Professional Engineering Examination-a course which has enabled scores of electrical engineers in Minnesota and Wisconsin to successfully pass the PE Exam. The material is representative of the type of questions appearing in the PE Exams prepared by the National Council of Engineering Examiners (NCEE) over the past twelve years. Each problem in the text has been carefully selected to illustrate a specific concept. Included with each problem is at least one solution. Although the solutions have been carefully checked, both by the author and by students, there may be differences of interpretation. Also, in some cases certain assumptions may need to be made prior to problem solution, and since these to individual, the final answer may also differ. The assumptions will vary from individual author has attempted to keep the requirements for assumptions and interpretation to a mini mum.

Programming for Electrical Engineers Book PDF/Epub Download

Programming for Electrical Engineers: MATLAB and Spice introduces beginning engineering students to programming in Matlab and Spice through engaged, problem-based learning and dedicated electrical and computer engineering content. The book draws its problems and examples specifically from electrical and computer engineering, covering such topics as circuit analysis, signal processing, and filter design. It teaches relevant computational techniques in the context of solving common problems in electrical and computer engineering, including mesh and nodal analysis, Fourier transforms, and phasor analysis. Programming for Electrical Engineers: MATLAB and Spice is unique among MATLAB textbooks for its dual focus on introductory-level learning and discipline-specific content in electrical and computer engineering. No other textbook on the market currently targets this audience with the same attention to discipline-specific content and engaged learning practices. Although it is primarily an introduction to programming in MATLAB, the book also has a chapter on circuit simulation using Spice, and it includes materials required by ABET Accreditation reviews, such as information on ethics, professional development, and lifelong learning. Discipline-specific: Introduces Electrical and Computer Engineering-specific topics, such as phasor analysis and complex exponentials, that are not covered in generic engineering Matlab texts Accessible: Pedagogically appropriate for freshmen and sophomores with little or no prior programming experience Scaffolded content: Addresses both script and functions but emphasizes the use of functions since scripts with non-scoped variables are less-commonly encountered after introductory courses Problem-centric: Introduces MATLAB commands as needed to solve progressively more complex EE/ECE-specific problems, and includes over 100 embedded, in-chapter questions to check comprehension in stages and support active learning exercises in the classroom Enrichment callouts: "Pro Tip" callouts cover common ABET topics, such as ethics and professional development, and "Digging Deeper" callouts provide optional, more detailed material for interested students

Liskov (engineering, Massachusetts Institute of Technology) and Guttag (computer science and engineering, also at MIT) present a component- based methodology for software program development. The book focuses on modular program construction: how to get the modules right and how to organize a program as a collection of modules. It explains the key types of abstractions, demonstrates how to develop specifications that define these abstractions, and illustrates how to implement them using numerous examples. An introduction to key Java concepts is included. Annotation copyrighted by Book News, Inc., Portland, OR.

Economics of American Universities The Book PDF/Epub Download

This book discusses the adjustment of universities to the changing financial environment. Its authors analyze the relationship between higher education inputs and outputs, assess the available information about the determinants of university costs, survey the influence of market conditions and pricing strategies on students’ demands for attendance at institutions of higher education, summarize research on the objectives for institutions of higher education held by different participants and funders, analyze how universities determine their priorities and relative funding for different activities and disciplines, and explore the economics of universities’ research functions. In addition, the book addresses three questions regarding the external fiscal environment facing American universities. What are the recent and emerging changes in the key economic variables affecting these institutions? What mechanisms have universities used in the past to cope with tighter financial constraints? What are the implications for university research activities as these institutions adjust to their fiscal constraints?

Engineering Economic Analysis Book PDF/Epub Download

Highly regarded by professors and students alike, Engineering Economic Analysis, Eighth Edition, introduces the fundamental concepts of engineering economics. Written for standard engineering economics courses, this bestselling volume by Donald G. Newnan, Jerome P. Lavelle, and Ted G. Eschenbach covers essential time value of money principles for engineering projects and isolates the problems and decisions engineers commonly face. It also examines the tools necessary to properly analyze and solve those problems. Revised in 2000, the eighth edition focuses on the use of spreadsheets, teaching students to use the enormous capabilities of modern software, rather than relying on spreadsheet templates. The majority of the chapters conclude with sections designed to help students create spreadsheets based on the material covered in each chapter. The book's organization gives professors the flexibility to omit spreadsheet instruction without loss of continuity (accommodating shorter courses) or to require that all computations be done with spreadsheets, thus preparing students to use this essential tool for real-life problems.
